What will the apprentice be doing?
The Carpentry Assistant will be helping to build our Garden Rooms from the ground up. They will be involved in every aspect of the build - laying foundations, creating a timber frame, roof work, plaster boarding, laying laminate floors and fittings doors and windows. Other day to day duties include: taking deliveries, garden clearance and the all-important end of the day clean up. Tools are provided, but the applicant will need their own vehicle to travel to site. Our hours are 8am-5pm.What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Attendance will be one day per week at college. You will receive the Carpentry Level 2 standard apprenticeship qualification, upon successful completion.What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Once successfully completed the apprenticeship, there is the potential to progress into full time employment, or into a higher-level apprenticeship – or potentially, both.Reality Check
We continually work around Mid Sussex in different customer's gardens. These are not always near a bus or train station, and so you will need your own vehicle. Help with fuel expenses will be part of the payment package.Skills Required
