UNICEF is looking for a friendly and outgoing candidate to join their team as their new Front of House Apprentice. The Admin Front of House Apprentice is expected to communicate effectively with all staff and visitors. You will also provide guidance and be able to work flexibly within a small team to provide assistance and cover as appropriate.

Responsibilities

Duties will include:

  • Provide an effective and efficient front of house service, maintaining the highest standard of customer service, offering a warm and professional welcome to internal and external customers, on the telephone and in person
  • Manage reception security procedures and advise and assist visitors with signing in procedures 
  • Coordinate all front of house enquiries and ad-hoc requests throughout the day, acting as a central point of contact for staff, providing accurate and timely information and advice about front of house policies and procedures
  • Carry out administration activities including filing, processing invoices, arranging couriers, ordering the stationery
  • Provide a point of sales contact for shop customers and process sales, liaise with the eCommerce team regarding stock and enquiries. Ensure the ‘shop’ at reception is well stocked and presentable
  • Provide training on the switchboard to other staff for the purposes of reception cover
  • Order stationery and general office supplies, maintaining stock control of supplies and assisting with supplier and contract administration
  • Carry out a timely and accurate collection, opening, distribution and dispatch of mail, including tracking details of registered and special delivery items
  • Assist with meeting room administration, ensuring all are clean, operating and fit for purpose, escalate issues when necessary
  • Attend meetings to represent Front of House issues to other colleagues, occasionally taking meeting notes as required
  • Undertake other general administrative tasks as requested to support the work of the People team

Future Prospects

After your Business Administration apprenticeship progress into HR, Recruitment, Sales, Marketing & PR, Real Estate, Personal Assistant, Office Management, Business Management. Most of the above can be completed in a higher-level qualification.

  • Previous experience of working in a busy customer environment
  • Ability to develop understanding and knowledge of systems once training is provided
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook, Word and Excel)

Qualifications Required

Five GCSE (or equivalent) grades A*-C/9-4, including English and maths.

  • Training on the 18 month Standard Level 3 Business Administrator (BA3) apprenticeship
