What will the apprentice be doing?
To provide support to the Finance team by assisting with the day to day running of the department.
Open post daily - Distribute invoices etc. to appropriate staff members
Assist with Accounts Receivable department in collecting debts and processing payments
Answer incoming calls
Provide cover for colleagues as and when required
Ad-hoc duties upon request
Process, code and verify all invoices received into the business
Learn nominal structure/coding system and ensure invoices are posted to correct nominals
Carry out weekly payment runs and ensure timely payment to suppliers
Perform reconciliation of supplier accounts/statements and chase up missing invoices
Carry out other tasks in accordance with agreed Accounts procedures
Provide support with month-end procedures to enable prompt closure of Purchase Ledger
Undertake additional work as when required
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Training will be provided by our approved provider First Intuition Chelmsford and will be carried out approximately once a week. At successful completion of the Apprenticeship the Apprentice will obtain the Level 3 AAT qualification
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
For the right candidate successful completion of the Level Three apprenticeship will result in a permanent contract and market rate salary being offered plus the ability to move on to the AAT Level 4 qualification
