Job Description

A great opportunity for a mature self-starter to join an established accountancy company in St Neots. For the right person, there is the opportunity to secure full time employment and progress to higher level qualifications.


Duties will include:

  • Xero Accounting (learning as you progress)
  • Basic bookkeeping
  • VAT returns
  • Contractor Accounting
  • Assist in running Payroll
  • Answering the phones
  • Administration Support
  • Support incorporating companies

Future Prospects

  • A permanent opportunity would be available for a successful apprentice
  • There is the opportunity to progress onto AAT level 4

Reality Check

  • Some travel to the Hitchin office may be required

Skills Required

  • A genuine interest in the Accounting industry
  • Knowledge or experience of Accounting industry would be advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Confident and professional communicator, particularly on the telephone
  • Good work ethic and understanding of appropriateness in the workplace
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Qualifications Required

The ideal candidate will have GCSE grades A -C / 8-4 (or equivalent) in ICT & English, 8-5 (A-C) grades or equivalent in maths

  • Spreadsheets for Accounting
