Job Description

Murphy Group are offering a an apprenticeship opportunity leading to long term employment within our Plant Depot in Ollerton. This role is in Accident Repair and will enable you to gain an industry recognised qualification leading to further development.


What will the apprentice be doing?

Murphy Plant  are looking for a Sprayshop Technician to join our experienced Plant depot team in Hemel Hempstead. 

Our Sprayshop technicians are known within the industry as motor vehicle accident Repair specialists that repair all elements of a vehicle and construction plant after it has sustained some type of collision damage. These range from small damage through to heavily impacted types of damage requiring complex and detailed repair or replacement of major structural elements of the asset.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Remove all damaged & associated components from a vehicle and re-assemble replacement or existing components to a vehicle. Keep updated with emerging new tech within the industry. Maintenance of a safe and efficient workshop. Repair vehicle body panels and repair or refurbish trim components. Prepare all types of vehicle body material. Apply paint, primer and basecoat, topcoats and clear coats and complete final refinishing operations. Identify and rectify paint or preparation defects.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

You can develop in the wider areas of the Plant Depot, such as Construction Plant Maintenance or Supervisory.
