Job Description

Bloomsbury are looking for an enthusiastic and organised person to join their award-winning Academic books division. In this role, you’ll provide essential administrative support for the busy marketing department. You’ll also assist colleagues across a really broad range of subject areas, from Fashion to Politics, Archaeology to Linguistics.

Responsibilities

The role

Tasks will be varied by may include:

  • Producing marketing materials, such as flyers and posters
  • Follow creative briefs given by marketing colleagues to create and deploy email campaigns
  • Updating the website
  • Putting together review copy plans
  • Create engaging social media posts on Twitter, Facebook and occasionally Instagram
  • Undertaking research to build contact lists
  • Producing reports as requested by marketers
  • Customer data management, otherwise known as CRM, including updating/creating contacts
  • Conference/event administration e.g. arranging couriers, packing materials (as and when in-person events are reinstated)
  • Maintenance of office supplies; organisation of marketing storerooms and book returns

Reality Check

Skills Required

  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel, though additional training will be provided
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualities Required

  • Enthusiasm with an interest in learning more about Academic Publishing
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your time, meet deadlines and prioritise effectively
  • Use outstanding attention to detail to spot errors
  • Flexible, with the ability to work independently if needed

Qualifications Required

  • You’ll need to pass a face to face screening interview with our Talent Team (don’t worry, we’re a friendly bunch) and sit initial assessments in maths and English

  • Level 3 Publishing Assistant level 3 apprenticeship standard
