Job Description

This is a great opportunity for someone to join our kitchen team at the Hurtwood Inn. We are a family run independent business in Peaslake in the Surrey Hills. You will be trained by our Head Chef, who has 30 years experience in restaurants around the world. The cuisine is mainly Italian, but also covers some great great British foods as well.

Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

The roll will cover aspects of kitchen work, including cleaning, food preperation, and cooking. 

Cleaning and preparing the area and equipment for work. Cleaning all the equipment once used.

Checking daily menus and ensuring all the hygiene check sheets are completed. 

Ensuring all foodstuffs are in date.

Preparing food for the various chefs.

Assisting chef in preparing and cooking food.

General maintenance of the equipment.

Assisting in delivering the food into the restaurant.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprectice will work towards a Level 2 qualification. The training provider will provide the training on site at the venue in Peaslake.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

We would hope for the apprectice to continue beyond this initial training to Level 3 and 4, or or become a full kitchen porter.
