Job Description

A member of the Software Development team and will have the opportunity to work with people at Thales sites across the UK and overseas. Key responsibilities will include; the development of Human Computer Interfaces, Acoustic processing, Autonomy and Middleware software products using industry standard tools and methods.


What will the apprentice be doing?

Define our solution by working with Systems Engineering to develop requirements and a test strategy. Develop our systems by working as a member of a project team to deliver high quality, robust software deliverable that meets customer requirements, on time and within budget. Support our systems by working with customer support functions to ensure that currently deployed software products are maintained on both land and at sea.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

As a Software Engineer Apprentice you will be studying towards a BSc in Digital and Technology Solutions with Manchester Metropolitan University following the Software Engineering pathway. For the duration of this four year programme you will combine university studies with practical application, working within our software function in Cheadle.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

At the end of the apprenticeship you be working as a software engineer within one of the Thales UK businesses
