What will the apprentice be doing?
You’ll be working across several depots providing routine maintenance and ensuring the continued operation of roads, tunnels and bridges in the area. As well as this you can expect to get involved with activities including kerbing, concrete work and laying asphalt.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
By the end of the apprenticeship you’ll receive a Level 2 Highways Maintenance Skilled operative qualification – a nationally recognised qualification to kick-start your career in the Highways industry.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
After the apprenticeship you could progress and excel in to a variety of different routes at Kier - There could be opportunities to look into our Kier Degree programme or to progress into other highways maintenance routes.
