The Smiths Detection Engineering Apprenticeship provides the perfect opportunity to join a high performing Engineering team. You will work with exciting technologies, develop expertise enabling you to grow into a highly capable multi-skilled engineer and gain great engineering qualifications.


What you will do in your working day

You will provide technical support and expertise for all areas of the engineering function including, manufacturing and assembly, test, service on site and at customer premises, analysis tools, measurement, off line programming, performance and continuous improvement solutions, product development and innovation, engineering drawing, purchasing and/or supply of goods or services for engineering activities, quality control, inspection and e-commerce technologies as required.

The training you will be getting

Day release at college to complete an Engineering Apprenticeship programme

The training programme will ultimately lead to:

- A BTEC Level 3 qualification in Engineering

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

On successful completion of the program the apprentices have the opportunity to join Smiths Detection in one of the disciplines above as an Engineering Technician. You will be trained to higher levels of competence and further education opportunities including ONC, HNC and BEng Foundation Degree.
